Israeli politicians from multiple parties have spoken out to thank American President Donald Trump for re-imposing sanctions on Iran after the disastrous nuclear deal.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swiftly released a video praising President Trump
“Israel fully supports President Trump’s bold decision today to reject the disastrous nuclear deal with the terrorist regime in Tehran,” said Netanyahu within an hour of Trump’s announcement, in an English-language statement televised live from his office.
Just last week, Netanyahu spoke live on national television to break dramatic news of the Iranian regime’s duplicity and lies in pursuing its goal of developing nuclear weapons.
Current Member of Knesset and former Israeli ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren paid tribute to President Trump on Twitter.
An historic day for Israel and the Jewish people. A deadly threat has been lifted. I am deeply grateful to Pres. Trump and his team for their clarity and courage in nixing the dangerous Iran nuclear deal. The Middle East and the world will be safer and better able to stop Iran.

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman also tweeted to thank the American leader, saying that Trump’s move sent a clear message to the Iranians.
“President Trump, the leader of the free world, told the Ayatollah regime clearly and firmly: No more! Iran is a dictatorship that supports and finances terrorism and death in the entire world,” wrote Liberman.
Netanyahu explained that Israel was opposed the nuclear deal “from the start,” as instead of ensuring that the Iranians cannot produce the nuclear weapons they so crave, the deal instead “paves Iran’s path to an entire arsenal of nuclear bombs.”
The prime minister added that the softening the sanctions by world powers after the 2015 deal ended up producing “disastrous results”.
“The deal didn’t push war further away, it actually brought it closer. The deal didn’t reduce Iran’s aggression, it dramatically increased it,” Netanyahu said firmly, before adding that Iranian influence has greatly increased across the region, and now threatens to destabilise multiple countries in the Middle East.
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin also issued a statement, acknowledging Trump’s declaration as “an important and significant step in ensuring the security of the entire free world.”
Praise for Trump’s decision came from across the Knesset divide as Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid, a prominent leader within the opposition, thanked Trump for his “strong stance in support of Israel.”
I thank @POTUS for his strong stance in support of #Israel. After the President's decision we have to enlist all our diplomatic capacity to ensure that Europe, Russia and China join the effort to prevent #Iran from returning to its nuclear weapons program.
