This morning, three Israeli security officers were killed and one was seriously injured in a terror attack outside the Har Adar community (Judea) near Jerusalem, the Times of Israel reported. According to police, the assailant arrived at the rear entrance of the community and opened fire on a group of security personnel, including Border Police officers and the community’s private guards, who were opening the entrance to the Arab workers, one of which was the terrorist. He “aroused the suspicion” of officers on the scene, who called for him to stop. The terrorist then took a pistol out of his shirt and shot at the Israelis, before being gunned down, police said.

The terrorist, a laborer from the nearby Bayt Surik village, was shot and killed by security forces at the scene, police said. The 37-year-old approached the entrance to Har Adar just before 7 a.m. as part of a group of Arab workers who work in the town. Police said the terrorist, a father of four, had a legal work permit to work in Israel.

The community of Har Adar had been relatively quiet with regard to terrorist attacks. One exception was in October 2016, when Solomon Gavaria, a border police officer (pictured above), was stabbed in the arm near the town. After his recovery from the stabbing, he had insisted on returning to his post at Har Adar.

Israel Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich, who arrived at the scene of the attack, said the terrorist “was known to those who greet the workers in the morning. It could just be someone who is fed up with everything and decides to take out his rage in an attack,” he said, adding, “The incitement [against Israel] is constant.”

Alsheich said it right – the Jewish people and our supporters must be vigilant and always on guard to protect ourselves against attacks like today’s. Those who think that the solution to Arab incitement and Islamic terrorism is for the Jewish nation to give away Judea and Samaria are part of the problem and need a reality check.

The Hamas terror group praised the attack, saying, “Once again Jerusalem proves that it is at the heart of the conflict with the occupation, and that there is no way to get it out of the equation of the conflict.”

In a recent speech at the UN, the despicable Mahmoud Abbas, head of the so-called Palestinian Authority, said about terrorists like the one who killed 3 Israelis today, “I salute our glorious martyrs and our courageous prisoners in Israeli jails.”

These “Palestinian martyrs,” i.e. Arabs that kill Israelis, qualify for a monthly salary by the PA of a whopping $3,500 – yes US dollars. The PA currently spends more than $300 million of foreign aid money per year on monthly stipends to terrorists and their families — dubbed by many as “pay to slay.” The international community has repeatedly tried to convince and to pressure Abbas to reverse this tool of incitement which only fuels the hate, motivation and terrorist acts against Israelis and anyone living in Israel.

The names of the victims were not not immediately known. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims of today’s attacks.
