Friends of Judea and Samaria in the European Parliament and Samaria Residents sign declaration to stop terror and fight BDS. Members of Parliament toasted with wine and tasted other products made in Judea and Samaria provided by Lev HaOlam.
The European Parliament in Brussels held a conference today in support of Jewish pioneers in Judea and Samaria and in opposition to the boycott and BDS movement, which discriminate against Jewish products. It was organized by the Samaria Regional Council, the Lev HaOlam organization, and the Friends of Judea and Samaria in the European Parliament. At the conference, representatives of Judea and Samaria signed a joint declaration with the Members of the European Parliament promising to cooperate to stop the funding of terrorism and reduce trade barriers facing Jewish pioneers in Judea and Samaria.
During the event, the participants toasted with wine provided by Lev HaOlam and produced in Judea and Samaria, the heartland of Israel. Likewise the participants received other products from Lev HaOlam producers in Judea and Samaria. After trying the products, participants promised to tell their friends to join the thousands of Israel supporters around the world receiving Lev HaOlam packages every month containing goodness from Israel’s heartland.
Three members of the European Parliament (MEP) spoke at the event. The cofounder of the Group of Friends of Judea and Samaria MEP Petr Mach, as well as MEP Fulvio Matruscielli, and MEP Branislav Škripek, expressed their uncompromising support for Israel.
Making the trip from Israel to speak were Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan, Ayala Shapira and Lev HaOlam founder Nati Rom. Dagan credited the office of foreign relations next to the Samaria Regional Council for creating the Group of Friends of Judea and Samaria in the European Parliament. He said, “For a long time people have been speaking about us, but not with us. We came here to change that and to advance the rights of Israeli citizens in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria through this group. Nothing is easy for these Israelis. From the right to build in accordance with natural growth to the right to prompt emergency services, nothing comes easy. This is an unacceptable situation and this group will work on these and other issues from inside the walls of the European Parliament.”
Ayala, a resident of Samaria who she was injured at age 11 when terrorists threw a firebomb at her car, also spoke about her experiences.
In addition, Lawyer Nati Rom, the Founder of Lev HaOlam, spoke about the organization’s efforts to fight against the boycott and BDS by distributing products from Judea and Samaria around the world. He emphasized that “the forces driving terror are the same ones that call for boycotting Israel. Communities must work together against this discrimination of Jewish products and preserve the free market. ”
Rom recalled a time that Prime Minister Netanyahu took part in preparing packages with Lev HaOlam. The Prime Minister stated that Lev HaOlam’s project “is our answer to these attempts to harm the Jewish State. We will fight against the lies spread by the boycott.” Rom called on Israel supporters to also take an active part in the project by signing up for Lev HaOlam’s monthly packages.
