Geva Binyamin (or Binyamin Hill) also known as Yishuv Adam (or Community of Adam) is a hilltop community located just five kilometers north-east of Jerusalem. The community is located on a mountain top that offers a beautiful view overlooking the Jordan Valley. On a clear day you can see both the Dead Sea and the Jordanian peaks from the Eastern side of the community. Geva Binyamin was established in 1984 by members of the Adam Gar’in movement, originally named after Yekutiel Adam, a former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces who had been killed two years earlier at Beaufort Castle in Lebanon. The Adam Gar’in group was comprised of secular Israelis who were looking to create a community that would allow them to stay in a close vicinity to Jerusalem while maintaining a higher quality of life.

The community of Adam is the closest community to Jerusalem in the Binyamin region of Samaria. The community is comprised of a mix of approximately 50% native-English speakers and 50% native Israelis and other nationalities.

Geva Binyamin is located within the jurisdiction of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. In 2016 it had a population of 5,278. The city is located in the portion of Israel that was designated for the tribe of Benjamin.
