Adiel Coleman, the latest victim of Arab terror in Israel
Yesterday afternoon, Abd al-Rahman Bani Fadel, a 28-year-old Arab terrorist from the town of Aqraba (Samaria), stabbed Adiel Coleman, a 32-year old resident of Kochav HaShachar (Samaria), who was walking on HaGai Street in the Old City of Jerusalem. Police confirmed that the terrorist upon spotting Coleman, took out a knife that he was hiding in his clothing and stabbed the Coleman in the upper part of his body. Coleman collapsed at the scene. Israeli Policemen who were stationed nearby ran to the scene and shot and killed the terrorist. Adiel was first treated at the scene and then evacuated to the hospital and seriously wounded. After a six-hour struggle for his life, the doctors pronounced the young husband and father of 4 dead, as a result of his serious wounds
The video below shows the knife used in the attack and the aftermath of the terrorist attack. The video was taken from the Twitter account of the Israeli police:
פיגוע הדקירה בירושלים: אחר הצהריים מחבל דקר גבר שהלך ברחוב הגיא בעיר העתיקה. שוטרים שהיו בקרבת מקום הגיעו לזירה ונטרלו את המחבל. הפצוע פונה לבית החולים כשהוא פצוע באורח קשה. הסכין ששימשה את המחבל, פלסטיני, נתפסה בזירה.

Because of the nature of the small streets, which are not car-accessible in the Old City of Jerusalem, a special Magen David Adom (MDA) tractor was used to take the critically injured man to an MDA ambulance stationed at the closest outlet. The victim was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital where he underwent surgery and fought for his life. During that time, Adiel Coleman’s family came to the hospital and prayed for the life of their husband and father, respectively.
The deputy head of the Binyamin Regional Council, Yisrael Ganz, stayed at Colman’s side until the bitter news of his death. In describing the scene at Shaare Zedek Hospital, he said, “It’s hard to describe the pain and grief that just cannot be processed,” he wrote on his Facebook page. He continued, “but on the other hand, it’s amazing to see a full hospital come together to pray and provide hope for one another. I left the hospital and I was asked by a cashier, did you hear about the attack? How could we not save him? Explain to me how? And I was amazed.”
Unfortunately, Israelis are all-too-familiar with terror attacks and when one occurs, it is not uncommon for the whole country to come together in mourning the loss of our brothers and sisters. Just this past Friday, Alaa Kabha, an Arab terrorist from the town of Ba’ata, rammed his car into an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) vehicle killing 2 soldiers, Sergeant Netanel Kahalani, 20, of Elyakim and Lieutenant Ziv Daus, 21, of Azur.
May the families and loved ones of these latest casualties of Arab terror find comfort among the mourners of Zion and may the names of the beautiful souls that were taken from us be for a blessing.
