Shvut Rachel is located approximately 45 kilometers north of Jerusalem. The community was founded in 1992 and was named after after Rachela Druk, a Shiloh resident and mother of seven who was murdered in a shooting attack not far from the town in 1991.
Shvut Rachel is a national-religious community of approximately 100 families within the jurisdiction of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. The young community features local prayer services and educational institutions. The city is located in the portion of Israel that was designated for the tribe of Binyamin (Benjamin).
